Indifferent

Is it just me or does anyone else feel indifferent about the DNC this week? I know I should care, but frankly, while I won't cast my ballot for the Republican candidate, I'm not feeling all that excited about the Democratic alternative.

And this from a gal who's been jazzed about politics almost her entire life.

  1. I am kind of excited about Obama. The DNC though? yaawwwnn, boring big public relations scripted to the last nano-second show. why even tune in?

  2. I'm very excited about Obama and admit to being a total sucker for the overly-scripted DNC. Even though the speeches start to all sound the same, it's inspiring to see the different faces in the crowd and hear the roll call of all the states. It gets me all riled up for election day and reminds me of why I vote. What can I say? I'm a sap.

  3. I've never been jazzed about politics. Ever. It all seems so fake. I don't really put my trust in any man. Rep. or Dem.
And my hubby always talks about going into politics.
    Great.

  4. While I feel the same as you about the DNC, not everyone I know does. In fact, a bunch of people in my neighborhood are watching the speeches together every night.

  5. I just need some big names to come out swinging against all the SMEAR that's been coming from the Repugnican sector. And Hillary needs to start smacking around her followers (the ones who keep carping about not voting or voting for McCain) and tell them that if we lose it's all their fault. The primary is done and done... and it's time to build that bridge and get on over it.

  6. SMEAR. Sorry. Lack of subject/verb agreement.

  7. A big me, too from here. Just can't get excited about it. Obama gets my vote, but it's not an enthusiastic vote.

Maybe I'll work up some excitement sometime in October or the first few days of November...

  9. I've been watching the speeches via the Huffington Post. If you've not been excited - go listen to Hillary's speech - she'll get you worked up a bit. I promise!

  10. For the first time in my life, I'm excited about politics! I have loved Obama since I first started paying attention a year and a half ago...
Since the DNC is practically in my back yard, I've been very interested. I've been watching the speeches of the big guys last night (with the exception of Biden b/c I was on the phone with T's teacher ~ ugh) and am finding myself more and more inspired and excited every day.
I've been watching it on CSPAN rather than the big media conglomerates so they don't ruin it by talking through the good stuff and telling me what to think :)
I hope you tune in tonight for Obama's speech... I am hopeful that it'll help you feel better! You might see my hubby on TV if they pan the crowd ... I'd be there, too, if I weren't 33 weeks preggo with twins!
