Blogging 101

Oh No! I thought I had Blogger all figured out...to post my post automatically while I wiled away my time in the Land of Hogs & Corn. Alas! No dice! (There were cards, however, and bets placed on football games...)

So with 2 days remaining in NaBloPoMo I officially did NOT manage daily posts. I wrote them, but getting published appears to be another story. Any tips on how to make that delayed publishing deely-bob work? I swear, if the tech college ever offers Blogging 101, I'm sitting in the first row!

The washing machine and tub are cleaning clothes and kids (in that order) and I'm very very very glad to be home. No place like it.

  2. What days did you miss? I'm showing posts from you all week. Anyway, it's the thought that counts, right?

I hope you get some rest & recovery from your trip away.

  6. I agree on needing a class to figure this out - I'm so inept!

Maybe we should try to figure something out online, taught by one of these really smart women (men) that we read daily?

    I would love it.

  7. Blogger has screwed us all at one time or another.

  8. Just entering the future date and time I want for a post to show up under "Post options" seems to work.

  9. And can your family play cards without starting verbal warfare? Mine can't. We gave up games & cards a while ago. The result of having an overly competitive mother.

Posting delay in Blogger: When you're entering a new post on blogger.com, at the bottom of your text window, there is a line that says "Post Options." If you click on that arrow, you will get a drop down with selections. Type in a date and time and when you publish, your post will show up as "scheduled" until that time/date. It will automatically be available to readers at the date/time specified.

  10. advice on pre=posting: make sure it says "scheduled" on the Posts page. If it just says draft, it won't post automatically. Click "post options" and then set date and time, and then click "publish". It's handy.

  11. I had me a pre-post glitch that cost me NaBloPoMo status too and I am seriously bummed about it. I really tried. Usually it works for me but this was and EPIC FAIL, as my son says.
