Holding our breath

Today I take Mr. T to the pediatric neurologist. He's been seizure free for over a year and the doctor will give the go-ahead to try him off his medication to see if the seizures are gone. For good.

He has an 80% chance of outgrowing the seizure disorder by puberty. A 60% chance he'll outgrow them before puberty.

The remaining % chance is that he'll have the seizures his whole life.

The only way to find out is to take him off the meds and do a dry run.

You now have a pretty good idea of what I'm praying about lately.

  1. Then we are ALL praying...very, very hard.

  2. Well, as you told me not too long ago - "consider yourself prayed for."

  3. Praying he's in the 60% category.

  4. My nephew has epilepsy and he outgrew the seizures by late middle school or high school.

I'm sending my prayers your way. And keeping my fingers X'd just to add a little extra umph!

  5. Oh, honey. I'm praying for you, too. Keep the faith, my friend.

  6. Sending seizure free thoughts your way... And oh, what a handsome one he is!

  7. Oh, yes, prayers from here, too.

  8. You won't be praying alone...what a cutie.

  9. hugs and prayers for Mr. T!!!

  10. Saying a little prayer for both of you. Oh, and crossing my fingers too.

  11. What wonderful pictures of a great kid. I've felt a part of both his triumphs and his struggles through your writing and your blogs. My heart and hopes are with you all for the best of all possible outcomes in the days and weeks ahead.

  12. A mothers heart certainly prays fervently for her kids! I'll be praying, even now. God is more than big enough.
