mommy needs some extra nog

I'm tracking three HUGE gifts again and hoping the UPS guy gets here before the day is up. We've got the ingredients for tonight's homemade pizza and a date on the sledding hill at 9 sharp this morning. Church starts at 4 and our family's annual viewing of It's a Wonderful Life at 8. I expect I'll cry like I always do as the citizens of Bedford Falls show up with their money and George Bailey realizes how much he matters. It always makes me verklempt. (At last! I love that word, but never had a chance to use it until this very moment!) I predict irritation at Team Testosterone who will be determined to stay awake to greet Santa--and I'll have to use all my ninja stealth to avoid their curious ears and eyes tonight while staging the scene for tomorrow morning.

Here's to miracles and grace tonight--for all of us.

Merry Christmas!

  1. It sounds like you have the perfect day planned. I want to go sledding but the 60 degree temps just aren't cooperating.

Enjoy your day and I hope you and your boys have a very merry Christmas.

  3. "It's a Wonderful Life" was always a tradition that was sure to send my brother and I on a one way trip to Snoozetown. I always wondered what about that movie made my mom cry and why she loved it so much.

Needless to say, I have cried the last 4 times I have watched.

Merry Christmas! We have a full day planned as well!

  5. Cool traditions!! I have NO idea what we're going to do today. I'm snowed in at home, instead of in CA with my family :( :( :( We have to make our own traditions today, and I don't know what to do!

  6. That's why we do a potluck Christmas Eve after services. The kids wear each other out while the grown-ups just wait them out!

  7. I am stuck at home due to flight cancellations in Chicago and I'm planning an excursion to the video store later. They better have a copy of IaWL still available!

    Merry, Merry Christmas!

  18. I hope your package arrived on time. We had packages that didn't arrive but there aren't any small children at our house so we can be patient.

I hope you had a wonderful family Christmas and are enjoying the beautiful snow. Whoops... fog! Whoops... rain! Crazy weather.
