snow day delay

What Green Girl does when there's a 2 hour delay before school starts:
1. lets Team Testosterone sleep in
2. bakes blueberry muffins for breakfast
3. takes a late shower after picking up yesterday's debris
4. checks the snowpants, mittens and boots to make sure they're dry
5. plays Life with Team Testosterone--which is entertaining and crazy since half of them can't read and they're all bad at math (they play a modified game without insurance, stock or revenge)
6. feeds everyone sugar cookies, milk and egg nog
7. bundles up Mr. B and Mr. T, deposits them at school hepped up on sugar by 10:00
8. repeats steps 4-7 with Mr. G, plus a peanut butter & jelly sandwich and an orange by 12:00

  1. I love mornings like that.

My girls play a cutthroat version of "Monoply" that probably involves insider trading, pyramid schemes, and even a Ponzi scam.

  2. Isn't it kind of nice not to be rushing around in the mornings, once in a while? Sounds like a good morning!

  3. Sounds awesome to me! It's been a lot of years since I had little ones here to play with in the morning. My baby is 26.:)

  5. Yahtzee is a great game for honing those math skills--if they get tired of Life.

  6. What a great start to the day!

I've just recently started playing board games with the boys. Let me tell you, with a 6, 4 and 2 yr old it gets pretty "interesting". ;)

  7. We play a lot of board games(Monoply,Scrabble,Cranium) when the weather is yucky. But family night is when the stakes get high..then I do admit to playing a little Whack-A-Mole when the stress of playing with cheaters gets to be too much..LOL!

  8. The "hopped up on sugar" part?
That's why when customers ask for a suggestion for teacher gifts I always steer them toward the Aromatherapy Stress Relief products.

  9. That really was quite a snowstorm!! And today it's so darn cold... 0 degrees in Oshkosh! I need to go out and take some photos of the snow, but can't get up the guts to face the cold!!

I laughed soooo hard at your description of your morning game of 'Life'!!! It will make me chuckle throughout the day!!

    Keep warm!!

  10. Really? A former teacher sending her kids to school on a sugar high? For shame! ;)
