good things

As soon as I start to wonder what to do with myself, whether I'm even close to the right path, God provides. In the last 24 hours two new students have approached me about Write On! classes and I've found a potential market for my writing. Not sure if it's a paying market, but I do believe that one thing inevitably leads to another.

My 2nd shift job is an ornery one, I deal with some stubborn people who don't want to clean up after themselves or do their work ... so it would be nice to have a 1st shift that feels more productive and profitable.

Yesterday I remarked to Mr. G that he hasn't met me at 6:00 a.m. for a snuggle and Curious George lately. Last night he told me, "Mom, call me in the morning and I'll meet you for Curious George and snuggling." When my alarm went off, I was pleased to find him in my bed ready for our old ritual. There we lay, his head propped up on my arm, watching George and the Man with the yellow hat. It was a good start to the day.

The clementines and grapes we bought at the grocery store are sweet, not tart.

More people liked my new haircut than hated it.

Fresh snow sparkling in the sunshine.

Spill it, reader, what good things are in your world today?

This week we have an old friend and his son coming to visit us from Massachusetts, for a 4 day weekend.
If the weather is nice on Friday, we're going to make a trip to Showcase of Citrus!

  6. Good things -- A snow day from school, so we all slept in. Then, the girls and I walked downtown to the library, the crepe shop, and bakery. It was a lovely, rambling walk and we all feel great.

  8. Thanks for the snuggie/Curious George moment. Love snuggies with my kids. My smile: I just finished teaching the last class for my daughters pre-school co-op. Yeah, no more teaching for 5 more weeks. And the highlight had to be painting with our noses. So now I can say I've painted a picture with my nose. Go figure?

  9. Aww. What a nice post. Nothing better than waking up to a snuggle. :)

    - My boys have been dears today.

    - Their colds seem to have left just as quickly as they came.

    - I got them all down for naps at the SAME TIME!

    - My mom stopped over with bakery this morning. :)

By the way, I wanted to tell you that you have inspired me to recycle more. Of course we have our recycle bins, but after reading that you have much more recycleables than trash for the sanitation workers to pick up it really got me thinking. I have been WAY TOO LAZY in my recycling ways. As I looked around my fridge and cupboards I realized most things could be recycled. SO... in short (too late) thank you for inspiring me! :)

  10. All I can come up with for the moment is that I'll be getting hell out of Dodge. Hopefully before I strangle anyone.

  11. It's been a rough day today. Good things? Coworkers. Bad things? parents who refuse to consider evals for ADHD.

  13. Hey, so neat to get back reading your blog. Vermont took it's toll over the last couple of months. It was read blogs or do laundry. Believe me, I didn't make the choice...the laundry did. Sigh.

Had an awesome school visit today with an amazing group of kids. They made me feel like I might actually be making a mark with my writing. Glee!

  20. Oh, no, soon he'll be TOO BIG for snuggles and Curious George...

I'm having a bleh week. Rain and more Jolly English rain, boys bickering, waaay too much picking up of clothes from floor. My new resolution is to become a nag. And just when it looks like I'm getting on top of things and dealing with grouchy boys, I HAVE A SORE THROAT AGAIN. Chas says England makes us sick, and I don't have the energy to disagree!
