soggy socks

We had such grand plans for tonight--two baseball games (that's right, ladies, twice as many coaches wearing double-weave polyester stirrup pants). But the rain won't stop.

We have a field of amazing, invasive reed canary grass and a man with heavy machinery and chemicals contracted to kill it. But the rain won't stop.

We have a pool in dire need of cleaning. But the rain won't stop.

We have a pile of dirt (now mud) that needs to get shoveled into a wheelbarrow and hauled to the strawberry bed. But the rain won't stop.

We have 3 loads of laundry to wash and hang out to dry. But the rain won't stop.

We have 5 acres of prairie to mow. But the rain won't stop.

We have windows and screens to wash. But the rain won't stop.

Mr. G has nothing at all to do with today's post--he just looks cute wearing his brother's sparring gear.

  3. Mr. G. is so stinking cute. Post lots of photos any time you feel inspired.

After a two week dry spell, we're finally getting rain this week and I am delighted. I have all sorts of new trees, shrubs, and plants and hate handwatering.

  4. It's dripping up here too. Not proper rain, the kind I loved to hate in Washington state, but drips. We need rain. My in-laws used to live on a lake. Now it's mud bay...

  6. Stormed so hard last night the utility pole in my parents' neighbor’s yard snapped in two! No power for them and I have a wee trickle of water in my basement laundry room, so yeah, it can quit any time!

  8. My son's team hasn't got a practice in all week and they were supposed to scrimmage tonight but its cancelled too.

At lest the weekend is looking good.

  9. I know we need the rain, and it is good that the level of the lakes may go up a bit, and it is good to replenish the ground water... but maybe the rain could stop coming 24/7? Just a thought...

  16. Yey for rain interrupting work! I hope you read a good book or sat down with a glass of something yummy! Sometimes a good shower is just what the doctor ordered! Unless it's too much rain and then it's just depressing.

  18. Glad I was in Tucson during the week of rain. Hoping there is still some grass seed left in the yard.
