i spy

Sunday night I actually sat down to fold laundry and flip through channels and found myself sucked in to watching The Bourne Identity for the fifth time. Such a good movie--the action sequences, the fighting, the quick-thinking. Jason Bourne is NOT hard on my eyeballs at ALL.

I gazed at Jason in awestruck wonder as he masterfully applied his martial arts training to fend off Bad Guys. My karate combat is good, but not that good.

I envied his ability to make decisions in the blink of an eye--to read a situation and act with gut instinct and well-honed spy skills.

I admired Julia Stiles's hair and realized that my new cut is just like hers. The only difference is that I have a bit of bang (new!) which flips across my forehead and coyly covers part of my right eye. And I don't sport the harsh striped highlights. I mentally complemented Kristy who cuts my hair for her brilliant maneuvering with scissors.

It would be so cool to be a spy.

Then I realized something else: I've watched The Bourne Identity five times, but I've never seen the sequels. How could I have let myself hang in mid-story all this time?

Guess what I'll be doing every night this week? Curling up in bed with Jason.
Spill it, reader. What sequels have you missed watching?

  1. Haven't seen a Bond movie since they replaced Pierce Brosnan. It used to be my favorite way of spending a New Year's Day afternoon, slightly hung over. Those days are over.

I have to give you a heads up, though. You posted pictures of the Bourne Ultimatum, the last in the series. Just so you don't get confused, you might end up watching prequels...

  2. I haven't seen any of the new Bond films, either.

But most nights recently you'll find me cuddled up in bed, watching the boys of Entourage on my lappy. They're not so hard on the eyes, either...

  3. "It would be so cook to be a spy." LOL!

Great movie. Great sequels. You'll enjoy them!

I'm not sure what I've missed. Which is probably a good thing, right? ; )

  4. I bet my kids are ones of the few who have not seen any Toy Story or Shreck movies. They just have very little interest in movies.

I'm going to see Eclipse tomorrow night with my girlfriends. Now, that's a sequal I have to see them as soon as they come out for.

  5. Saw the first Harry Potter and none of the others. Saw Star Wars but missed the other 5. Saw Raiders of the Lost Ark....you get the picture. I'm not much for movies anyway.

I love Daniel Craig as Bond. Isn't his first movie based on the original Ian Fleming novel? Of course, I've not seen the second one he did. I see a trend here.

  6. I love the Bourne movies.

Julia Stiles' hair cut was adorable, but the stripes in her hair were distracting.

  7. I confess to watching the same movie, probably at the same time. Yes, he's quite easy on the ole eyeballs!

    I haven't seen Harry Potter # 5 & 6.

  9. Love Jason Bourne, love Julia Stiles's hair...although, I think I might look like a mushroom if I tried to pull it off, and I'm pretty sure if my husband and kids weren't holding me back, I'd be a spy. Ok, maybe I'm not that cool, but I'd probably watch more spy movies!

  10. I was going to take my 2 older kids to Toy Story 3D tonight, but when I called to double check with my babysitter she informed she was out of town. Gee thanks hey? Good thing I called. Looking for a last minute replacement is not fun! Shrek 3 is on my list too.

I bought all the Bourne movies because they are soooo good! I just might have to break them out this week and join in the fun! I've missed too many other sequels to list...

  12. My 12 year old keeps telling me how cool it would be to be a spy, and wear a tightly fitting black outfit. I'm like "Ummm...yeah, that's exactly what all spies wear to 'blend' in" hehe :)

Also...in response to your comment to my post, if I sell my elephant to the zoo, what will I eat? :)

  13. Rescue Me and I'm remedying that situation this week.

Yes, I do love me some Matt Damon--handsome and with a great sense of humor.

  17. I watch so few movies. Really. Makes me really lousy at the pop culture questions in Trivial Pursuit. But I make up for it with my mad geography skillz.

  21. I've never seen that movie but now I want to.
We've watched so much Harry Potter in our house that we can quote the scenes as the actors speak them. I'm sure it's quite irritating to any outsiders.

Lately I've been watching lots of Antiques Roadshow. I must be getting OLD.

  22. Ah. Yes. Well, there's a movie which no girl should feel the least bit red-faced for admiring. Thrilling. But not as thrilling as Collin Firth.

  23. Love all the Bourne movies. Behind on the Bond sequels. Just saw Knight and Day w/Tom Cruise and enjoyed it. Action and comedy, can't go wrong.

  25. I have to watch the last season of LOST. It's on my computer, taunting me. "Ashleyyyyyy . . . don't you want to figure out what it all meeeeeeans? Aaaaaashley . . . are Desmond and Penny together in the ennnnnnd? Don't you want to knooooooow?"

I don't think there are any movie sequels that I'm missing that I really want to see.

Julia Stiles' hair is super cute in The Prince and Me. That's a cheesy movie I can watch over & over.

  26. I've seen the first two but felt as if I was thrown right into the middle of them and never really caught up. I haven't seen The Bourne Ultimatum.

    Same with Oceans Eleven/Twelve...is there a 13??

  29. My hubby makes me watch Jason being "bourne" over and over again. He acts like he's seeing it for the first time, every time.
Well, I guess it's only fair since I make him watch Little House on the Prairie over and over again, which he soo sarcastically refers to as... "Little Outhouse on the prairie."
