bookin' it

Up to my EYEBALLS in editing final proofs of Whipped, Not Beaten (debut fiction about home parties, cooking and love) (would make excellent Christmas gift alongside cooking gadget/utensil or nice box of chocolates) and plan to rest my eyes this afternoon by catching up with my bloggy pals and seeing how everyone spent Thanksgiving.

You can now pre-order copies of Whipped, Not Beaten HERE (just click) for $12 each plus S/H.

And I thought you'd also like to know the author photo on the back cover is cropped from this picture of me meeting Jenn at Juggling Life and Deb at San Diego Mama when I went to California in February. What a small world, right? We sure did take a great photo together, but the book designers didn't want to include Jenn and Deb on the back cover, something about it would confuse readers about who wrote the book...

Back to the proofs for now!

  4. Congrats! I AM ORDERING!
And also. Darn on my picture being cropped out. It might be the closest I ever get to being an "author."

  9. I ordered mine! Like Deb, I fear that being cropped out of your author photo might be as close as my face ever comes to being on a book cover.

I will be so pleased to say, "My friend, Melissa, you know . . . the one that writes the books?"

  10. Are you not just peeeeeeing yourself to have your writing all official and bound and for sale?

I'm totally asking for it for Xmas. Gotta let my husband buy something for me, since I'm so good at shopping up my own desires in general.

    Congrats, lovely.

i'm with lisa... it's hard to proof your own stuff. when i have to do that, i start from the back (or the bottom) and read backwards.
