a dry Christmas break

We have no snow and Team Testosterone has brand new snow shoes. No sledding. No snow forts. No snow people in the yard. Just cold out there and very dry. And, speaking of dry, I discovered last night (before the Packers beat the Bears) that I've no beer, either.

Thank goodness they also have a brand new lazer tag set (for 4 players) and a plethora of boxes to build a maze with. And thank goodness we have a basement.

And Dance Party 3, which is the most sweaty, gut-busting fun we've had in ages.

Spill it, reader. What's the forecast for your break?

  1. Lots of reading, Legos, and probably some puzzles, as my girls got two 3-D puzzles of famous world landmarks.

  2. Pierce is devastated it didn't snow on Christmas. He doesn't seem to get that it doesn't have to snow on Christmas. He's still talking about it today "But WHY didn't it snow yesterday???"

  3. We're on hold here until Cape Cod Kid and Cape Cod Girlfriend arrive on Jan 3rd. Then it will be visits to Grandma, Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal, Epcot and hopefully a trip to the beach.

I'm home alone today, playing with my new Kindle Fire

  4. 50's dry and partly sunny today with rain on the way tomorrow. I sure would like have a little snow on the ground to cover up the dead, brown grass!

  8. The lack of snow is disappointing --Emma got two "butt sleds" because she loves to slide down her snow-covered slide. Hopefully it won't stay this dry through January!

  9. Reading, blogging, sleeping in each morning - well, at least until 7. La Petite came home for Christmas, Amigo rocked his school holiday show, and now we're just resting and enjoying the Packers' victory over Da Bears. Oh, yes, and my ownership in the team. Woo-hoo!! Packers stock for Christmas!

  10. Well, that sounds pretty awesome to me. But I bet they are itching to try out those snow shoes! HOW FUN!

My kids each got an indoor tent so our basement is set up with four little tents, flashlights, sleeping bags, walkie talkies and even a fake firepit. Awesome. When they tire of that there are boxes and boxes of Legos. Sweet! :)

Unfortunately, the pukies hit us and two of my four were puking last night. Seems quite today though so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. ;)

  14. Well, you're approximately the, em, third mom to report in recent days that Dance Party 3--which I'd never heard of until recent days--is a crazy blast.

Praise Jeebus for the lazer tag...we are bemoaning the lack of snow, and its associated activities during school break, too.

    Hang in there.

  16. Ooo! Dance Party 3 sounds like a blast!

Sorry to hear about your lack of snow. Glad to hear it's not resulting in a lack of fun!

  17. we are dry-ish, dead browm, and dreary here! what an odd winter--kids are playing outdoors a ton (mainly for my sanity), but it's "boring" without snow...

  18. We had a white Christmas, but it was just leftovers on the ground. Not much seems to be in the forecast either. I looked at next week and it said partially sunny/cloudy all week. WTH? This is so strange for MT.

  19. I think I need Dance Party 3. Something to get us up and moving around here. We've had a very wet Christmas -- but the rain kind, not the snow kind.

  20. Aw! Sorry about the lack of snow! I was given snowshoes for Christmas too! Not sure how much I'll use them, but our first experience was great. Are there any ski areas near you? It's pretty cheap (at least in WA where I was visiting) to get a pass to snowshoe paths.
