why do green girl's teeth hurt today?

a) the New York Giants kicked them in during the 4th quarter
b) the Packers consistently fumbled, dropped and whiffed on offense, causing her to grind them in frustration
c) the Packers' sloppy defense made her grit them
d) 7 hours of tailgating and sitting in the fresh air at Lambeau made everything from her neck up feel a little sensitive
e) all of the above

She does take exception to the Packer fans who yelled that the Giants suck, because clearly they did NOT. They made a winning team go out looking like losers. Green Girl plans to spend Monday curled up in the fetal position, hugging her Charles Woodson jersey and eating the leftover Christmas chocolates.

She'll see you Tuesday.

  2. My sympathies to you. I really thought the Packers would win.

I felt the same way last week when the Broncos knocked the Steelers out. Chocolate does help :)

  3. Wow, you still have chocolate left from CHRISTMAS? What a Spartan you are.

  6. I would know exactly what you were talking about if it was a weekend my husband were home, but since he's not . . .

    Better luck next year, Pack.

  7. I suppose it would be futile to suggest that you not care about football, that way you don't have to suffer when things don't go well?

  8. Oooh, that's a tough thing.
I was thinking, as I was typing this morning, that there might have been some football I missed yesterday.

  9. --though, as you can probably tell, I didn't actually "miss" it.

  10. How ironic that I Actually had a tooth issue during the game! (It'd be hilarious if it wasn't so stinking annoying..and now I think my dentist is off for MLK Day!!!!) It was a sad game--they played too well this season to end it like that.

  11. I'm just sorry that you had to sit out in the cold yesterday for 7 hours for NO reason!!

Back when I attended a Big Ten school, I found (from my one experience of attending a game) that football was better endured from the couch.

Enjoy the chocolate. I think you earned it :-)

  14. The Giants earned this win, as much as I hate to admit it. They really played well.

  18. We had Super Bowl day at the Friday Forum with Packer Perc from Berres Brothers and I wore my Packer sweatshirt and talked smack about the Packer's attendance at the Super Bowl. Fortunately my office forum are not big football fans so I didn't have to eat crow today :(

  20. I'm not talking about it.

Thankfully I missed almost all of the game because I was on planes. I caught a bit in the airport and on the radio in my car. The hubby and I exchanged no words about it and we are avoiding news/sports and anything else that talks about it.

I was worried that the kids would be too upset about the game to care about me being home (I got home right after the game) but luckily they were fine. They didn't want to talk about it either. ;)

    Boo. :(

  21. Oh, and I had a very bad feeling about this game because Todd and I spent way too much money on the last Packer playoff game at Lambeau against the Giants and it ended poorly as well. Stupid Giants.
