since Friday

my brave friend Nicole did drive us (white-knuckled and against the patent wishes of our spouses) to the Dells. The roads were truly awful for the first and probably only time this winter, but we eventually arrived at our destination in one piece. Wine drinking and merry making ensued. I got the thermal mud wrap and my skin looks divine, all detoxed and smooth as silk. I feel more balanced, my head is on straight again and I can face the last sucker punches of winter with defiance.

I'm trying to kick-start the week's projects, but my mind is terribly distracted by various things: April's school board election, career opportunities, three books I'm reading and the nagging feeling that I'm forgetting to do something Very Important.

Spill it, reader. How is Monday starting out for you?

  1. I'm starting my Monday with a trip to the grocery store. I swear I don't know how two people eat so much food! I think all I do is wash clothes and go to the grocery.

  3. Got a long list of boring chores staring at me. Of course, I'm stalling at the moment.

  4. I'm just going to hang out. One son has a "snow day" today. That's what his school calls it. Ha! It was 85 yesterday. The teachers have a conference. He plans to sleep late and ride his bike this afternoon. The other son is going to see The Artist with me. Then I have to plan something for dinner. Oh dear...

  5. After a day of killer bladder spasms yesterday, I was so happy to wake up to a nearly pain-free Monday. After I vacuum the rugs and a small grocery shopping trip I'm going to get a pedicure with my daughter.

  6. Our Monday began with an unexpected snow day. "Little to no accumulation" turned into 8" of snow.

  7. My Monday began a little chaotic, since Emma has the day off and I needed to do some prep and copying before class this morning. Somehow I mis-calcluated the time and we got to campus with only a tiny amount of time for that prep. Just barely got Emma in my office and the copies made before I had to start lecturing.

But now I'm relaxing and watching the snow melt.

  8. Yay! So glad you got to have your weekend! Although it sounds like re-entry is a bit of a b*tch.

  12. Personally, I'm loving it. I moved last week and am happy with the fixing up of my new house and checking out all this small town has to offer.
Maybe you should only read one book at a time? That would help a bit.
Your weekend sounded oh so great!

  13. I mentioned you at the lunch table. My colleagues all said "Good for her!" when I told them you are running for school board. Now they just have to pass the word to anyone they know in Freedom....

  14. My Monday was pretty good. I started out by heading to aerobics class but deciding on the way that I am still too sick to go to class, as They do not want to be coughed on, so I went to the grocery store instead, and bought lots of chocolate, not ALL of which was for me, and then I spent most of the day working, for pay, which is just the best, and here I am ending my day with a run-on sentence. Life is good!

So glad you were able to make it to your weekend spot. But thermal mud wrap? Sounds awful.
